For my birthday, I got the parts for upgrading the engine in the '66. I'm reducing the compression for pump gas, increasing the lift, flow, and displacement.

Had to bring the block to Phoenix to get the cam tunnel bored out for the 50 mm roller bearings. Never knew it would be so hard to find a machine shop to do that. While I was at it, figured I'd have them balance the rotating assembly and bore out the cylinders another 0.02 to 4.185. Zimmerman Racing Engines did the work, and what a wonderful job they did! They balanced it to 1/2 gram, giving me just 4 lbs of unbalance at 8000 rpm. 20171004_134024_0181ef016a08fae80116438f6ed13b718966be03.jpg 20171004_134009_b97e41473a14a16c5498f323b4f09a3ab1d787e8.jpg

Also got my ignition timing advance ramp figured out to maximize torque.
